Privacy Policy
Who operates InTheKnow
InTheKnow is operated by Phoebe Goldthwaite. Contact intheknowpcwn@outlook.com for privacy questions or requests. This policy describes the current InTheKnow app.
Information we handle
We handle your email address, account identifiers and authentication information; the profile details you provide, such as education, graduation year, career history, affiliations and cities; optional photos and résumés; messages, shared profiles, call invitations, private notes, credits, notification preferences, reports and support requests. We record your signup declaration that you are at least 18 and the version of the Terms and Privacy Policy presented. Service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the service.
How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, display profiles, deliver messages and call scheduling, manage credits, provide support, investigate reports and enforce community rules. The current app does not include advertising tracking or a credit-purchase checkout. We do not request device location for city suggestions; text entered into city search is sent to Apple’s search service.
Who can see your information
Signed-in members can discover alumni profiles. Students can browse member profiles; alumni can access student profiles through their conversation relationships. Student résumés are available to their owner and alumni, subject to account and blocking restrictions. Only upload résumé information you want those members to see. Member messaging and call details are available to participants. Private notes are restricted to their author through the app. Support requests and reports are accessible to authorized administrators. Admin accounts are hidden from member discovery. These are application access controls, not a claim of end-to-end encryption; the operator and service providers may access data as needed to operate, secure and support the service.
Providers and disclosures
Supabase provides authentication, database and file storage. Our configured email-delivery provider processes authentication emails. Apple supplies city-search functionality and relevant platform services. Providers process information needed for those functions, potentially outside your country. We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to respond to abuse, protect safety or enforce these Terms. Recipients can retain information you share, including downloaded résumés.
Device storage and notifications
Stars and recent searches are stored on your device under your account. Session information is stored to keep you signed in. In-app notifications and preferences are saved to your account. The current build does not deliver phone push notifications or email call reminders.
Retention and deletion
Account information is retained while needed to provide and protect the service. You can delete your account from the profile menu. The deletion flow removes your app uploads and account-linked records, including your conversations and calls for both participants, private notes and support requests. Support replies written by an administrator can remain in another member’s support request after that administrator’s account is deleted, without the deleted account reference. Some information may remain in provider backups or operational logs under provider retention schedules; deletion does not recall recipient downloads or screenshots. Contact us with questions about a particular record.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your profile, manage notification preferences, block or report members, and delete your account in the app. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. Email intheknowpcwn@outlook.com to make a request; we may need to verify that the account belongs to you. Do not send passwords or verification codes.
Adults only
InTheKnow is for people aged 18 or older. Signup uses a self-declaration rather than independent age verification. If you believe someone under 18 is using the app, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Updates
We may update this policy as the service changes. The version date identifies this text. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate in-app or email notice before taking effect when required. Contact intheknowpcwn@outlook.com for questions.
